Andrea Wise Smith
Andrea Wise Smith (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary mission driven creative that works at the intersections of the arts, experiential education, and community development. As a vocalist, urban planner, writer, and trauma informed advocate she leverages her creative talents and technical skills to support BIPOC communities’ advancement and self advocacy.
Andrea enjoys creating and contributing to inspiring educational media that encourages curiosity, confidence, discovery, and joyful learning for young students and families. She currently supports a Department of Education grant-funded program providing professional development nationally to K-2 educators using PBS KIDS media to support children’s success.
Andrea was raised in Seattle, WA and resides in the D.C. Metropolitan area with her husband.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Black Studies and Political Science from Amherst College and graduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Georgetown University. She loves the arts, outdoors, international travel, reading, and working with young students.
